Places To Visit
Munnar hills is situated at an altitude of 5000 to 8000 Ft above sea level. The name ‘Munnar’ – ‘3 rivers’ in Malayalam, is derived from the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathani & Kundala.
 
This beautiful hill station was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India. Sprawling Tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, and holiday facilities make this a popular resort town. The places to visit in Munnar are separated on the basis of direction.

Cochin Direction :

Pothamedu View : 6 km from Munnar, It gives you a beautiful view of plantations. Attukadu Water Falls: 9 km from Munnar. Seeing a waterfall would be the most beautiful scene on this world, its natural beauty and soothing effect is always exceptionally terrific for almost everyone.
Blossom Park: This is a flower garden, which is a part of the Hydel tourism project owned by the Kerala Electricity Board.

Coimbatore Direction:
Tea Museum:
The Tea Museum is a real place to see the process of making tea powder. You can see the museum and also the equipment used in the earlier days for tea powder making. A documentary of Munnar and Tea plantation can see in a small theater there. And also you will be getting a cup of tea at the time when you walk out from the museum. Thus, hear you See, Smell, Hear bout, and Taste Tea. The entry charges will be Rs.75/- per head.

Eravaicolam National Park
:
12 km from Munnar Town, A sanctuary for the endangered mountain goat of South India, the Nilgiri Tahr,The Eravikulam National Park stands out for the stark beauty of its rolling grasslands and sholas, in the Rajamalai hills spread over 97 sq km.

Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary:

The Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the rain shadow region of Western Ghats of Kerala, and it represents a large number of plants and animals unique to the thorny vegetation.

Top Station Direction:

Flower Plants Nursery by Forest Department: While you are moving towards Top Station you can visit this flower garden were you can see more than 400 types of flowers. Honey Bee Tree: In this tree you can see the hosting of large number of Honey Hives.

Maduppetty:

This place is located At 1700 m above sea level, this place is 13 km away from Munnar. The DTPC(District Tourism Promotion Council), and the Hydel Tourism provide boating facilities in Mattuppetty Dam. Speed launch, slow speedboat and motorboats are available for hire.

Echo Point:

In this place you can listen to your own voice through the echo. Now as the Eucalyptus plantation at the other side of the lake (this is the reservoir area of the Maduppetty Dam) is cut down to make the echo very feeble compared to the earlier days.

Kundala Dam:

Kundala is a colorful location on the way to Top Station. There is a Golf Course which is belongs to Tata Tea Ltd is also located here. The Kundala artificial dam is an another attraction.

Top Station:

Top Station is a tourist destination which falls along the border of the states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The region is part of Idukki district in Kerala and Theni district in Tamil Nadu. There is 35km from Munnar to Top Station and 1700 m above sea level Top Station is notable as the historic transshipment location for tea delivered up here from Munnar and Madupatty by railway and then down by ropeway to Kottagudi. For the rare Neelakurinji flowers this area is popular. Nearby you can see the Kurinjimala Sanctuary. To the planned Palani Hills National Park, Top Station is the western entrance.
